- You know the names and animal sounds for: Elephant, Dog, Cat, Snake, Lion, Tiger, Bear, Sheep, Horse, Frog, Goat, Pig, Owl, Bird, Cow, Bunny (rabbit), Mouse, Alligator, Chicken

- Colors: Yellow, Blue, Purple, Pink, Green

- You know the names of the foods and like to eat them: Bread, Popcorn, Banana, Cheese, Chicken, Smoothie, Steak, Cookies, Crackers, Peanut Butter, Milk, Waffle, Eggs, Strawberries, Apples,(You love yogurt, donut holes and taquitos but we are working on the names)

- You have an opinion about what you wear. Look out if I want you to wear something that you are not interested in. You would think I was torturing you by the fits you throw, good golly.

- Your curly hair is now in full force! I cannot wait for it to be longer!

- You are Mommy's Helper, you love to swiffer, sweep, do laundry and unload the dishwasher with me.

- You have turned a corner and are becoming a Daddy's Girl. You ask for him all day long and want to play with him when he gets home. You love running errands with just Daddy. You also are having a harder time after the weekends adjusting back to Daddy being at work.

- You love to mess with Rollie, you dress her up, chase her around, and make sure she never sleeps during the day. She likes the attention for the most part but also finds places to hide :)

- You are becoming a Linus. You want to carry your blanket everywhere. You used to only want it at nap time and you willingly left it in your crib, now you ask for it throughout the day, especially in the morning when you first wake up.

- Wow, you hate shoes. HATE. The only shoes you will wear are your pink crocs, which are quickly becoming too small. You need to be in a size 6 but you are still squeezing into a five. You even took your water shoes we are trying to get you used to and your threw them out the back door. If we suggest any of your other shoes you will cry, take them from us, and put them in the top drawer of your dresser. You silly goose.

- I have stopped recording new words, you try to say everything we ask you too, and you have new words daily. Some of it is really clear and other words need more work

- You did much better at the doctor this month and he was very impressed with your vocabulary. And you didn't have to get any shots! You don't go back until your second birthday... I have mixed feelings about that. You show me everyday how much you are no longer a baby, and having these doctors appt spread further apart make me a little sad.

- You were in the car quite a bit this month. You took a trip to your Grandma and Grandpa Rush's ranch again and saw more family from Alaska. We also drove a little further to your Aunt Amanda's baby shower. We cannot wait to meet Eli!

- Our friends, Michael, April, and Travis came to visit! We had so much fun catching up and I have a feeling that Caroline and Travis will grow up to be great friends :)

- You also went to Portland with me so Nan could come with us to Allison's Baby Shower in San Antonio. We had so much fun. We stayed in a hotel with Nan and you had fun at the baby shower playing with balloons and looking at all the gifts once they had been opened. You also kept bringing me mini cinnamon rolls and I couldn't figure out who was giving them to you. (You were getting them off the food table, you are way taller than I think)

Dress Up anyone?

17 Months

- This month can be summed up with one word...Allergies. We hate spring! Despite being stuck inside most of the time we managed to spend a few minutes outdoors daily and you kept a great attitude about it most of the time!

- You have been a total ham lately (see pictures below)

- You have a few new words: Pluto, Yellow, and Pink

- Your favorite things this month are your sunglasses, your pink bear daddy got you in New York, your big blue purse and your baby Ariel doll. You love to be the "mama" and rock, hold, and put your baby to sleep. You are also becoming a lot more attached to your blankie.

- We also met a few babies this month, Hudson (friend), Jay (cousin), and Edith (second cousin).

-We traveled to Seguin and got to spend some time with family in from Alaska and hang out at Grandma and Grandpa Rush's Ranch. You discovered a love of bubbles and the cow's water trough. You didn't care so much about fishing or walking around the ranch as much as being on the porch or around the house playing.

- We spent Easter in Portland with the Miles and Moody clan and spending time with extended family from Wisconsin. You loved to find but then open the eggs, while leaving your basket behind. You didn't get the concept of collecting as many as you can and then opening them later. We ended up tossing all of your eggs back out in the yard to be hunted by your cousins because you just wanted empty eggs. you were not interested in the treats inside.
